Linking a marquee directly to a house is one of the most technically demanding installations we undertake, and this project is a perfect example of why experience, planning and attention to detail are so important.
The requirement was to create a marquee that connected straight to the front door of the house, forming a smooth and practical transition between the indoor space and the marquee. Crucially, this had to be achieved without causing any damage to the property and while remaining completely watertight in all weather conditions.
While the finished result looks clean and effortless, the process behind it is anything but simple. Every element had to be carefully assessed before installation began, including ground levels, drainage, brickwork, door alignment and the surrounding landscape. When linking to an existing building, there is no margin for error.
One of the biggest challenges with this type of installation is ensuring a fully weatherproof seal. Any gaps or movement can quickly lead to water ingress, particularly during heavy rain or high winds. In this case, the marquee was precisely aligned and securely connected, creating a robust, watertight join that protected both the structure and the property.
The end result was a marquee that felt like a natural extension of the house rather than a temporary structure. Guests could move directly from the front door into the marquee comfortably, regardless of the weather, with no visual disruption and no compromise on safety or aesthetics.
